AISHWARYA RAI disappoints with her "family first" attitude.....ISHA KOPPIKAR changes name!.....RANBIR-DEEPIKA PREM KAHANI gets warmer!

Aishwarya Rai is turning out to be a real BHARATIYA NARI. She has once again turned down Hollywood actor Will Smith's offer to her for a role in his upcoming flick, Tonight He Comes. This time she says she refused because her priorities are straight; her family comes first. OK, we understand that, but dear Ash you are a role model for the present and coming generations of Indian women. This refusal strengthens the stereotype of an ideal Indian woman, who always puts her family before her career. Good for the stability of the family, but what about woman's status in India? AURAT GHAR KI LAAJ HAI, GHAR ME RAHEGI kind of utter nonsense. We can't imagine Abhishek Bachchan refusing to act in a Nicole Kidman flick (just for argument's sake) citing 'family reasons.' Dear Ash you are only re-inforcing stereotypes and have made it difficult for future Indian women to break free. Sad. Very sad. You had a once-in-a-million chance to do something great for Indian women. You just blew the chance. I guess you are just like the young lady in my neighbourhood, who despite being a qualified doctor, sits at home. She says the same things you said as justification. "My family comes first."

Add an 'E' like Sunil Shetty became Suneil Shetty. Our 'KHALLAS' girl is the latest to join the bandwagon. She has now become Eesha Koppikar ( earlier she was Isha Koppikar). KYA YAAR! If changing names can change one's fortune the daily newspapers would be full of advertisements declaring change of names. AISA HOTA HAI KYA? What do you say? Anyway let us wait and see how Isha's ( sorry, Eesha's) KISMET BADALTI HAI.


May be our story yesterday about the wedding of Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone was a figment of our imagination, but there is no doubt that the GARAM romance between the two is hotting up by the day. It seems Deepika has moved into a new apartment in Cozy Home Society at Pali Hill, which is just a stone's throw away from Ranbir's bungalow.
