The politics of Bollywood would confuse the brainiest political pundit! When the Salman - Shahrukh cold war turned hot on July 16, the Bachchans had remained aloof. They are a power centre on their own.They had problems with both the Khans. With Salman because he still keeps harping on Aishwarya Rai with all and sundry, despite the fact that she is a Bachchan bahu now.
With SRK the problem is that Shahrukh wants to become the emperor of Bollywood and resents Amitabh not relinquishing the throne. Ego hassles you know. SRK tried to sabotage the Unforgettable tour and was quite successful too. The Toronto and German legs of the tour had to be dropped as SRK's machinations had harmed the tour and there were little ticket sales.
Salman then tried to get pally with the Bachchans. He visited Abhishek on one of his film sets. But his effort seems to have gone in vain. The Bachchans invited Shahrukh and Gauri to the Drona premiere. Salman and his family were not invited.
I guess Amitabh thought Salman's Ash fixation would make him an unreliable ally. So they chose Shahrukh as the lesser evil. I guess SRK will now stop gunning at the Bachchans. And he can count on their support in his scrap with Salman.So at the Drona premiere SRK met Bachchans like long lost family. Gauri hugged Abhishek. Shahrukh said, 'I am excited to see Abhishek in the film. I think he has really put in great efforts for the film and I wish him all success.'
